If you are a Ukrainian applying for the RWR+ Card, one key requirement is full insurance coverage in Austria. Here's what you need to know.

Why Austrian insurance is crucial

To qualify for the RWR+ Card, you must prove that you have had full insurance coverage in Austria for at least 12 months within the last 24 months.

This insurance must be:

  • Austrian employment insurance through employment or self-employment
  • Full insurance coverage including health, accident, and pension insurance
  • Active for at least 12 months before applying

If you are employed

If you have a job above the minimum salary threshold, your employer will automatically register you for Austria's social insurance system.

Thresholds:

  • 2024: €518.44/month
  • 2025: €551.10/month

If you are self-employed

Self-employed individuals must register with the SVS.

Thresholds:

  • 2024: €6,221.28/year
  • 2025: €6,613.20/year
