Austria's Red-White-Red Card – Who qualifies and how to calculate your points
What is the Red-White-Red Card?
The RWR Card is Austria's key permit for skilled workers from outside the EU. It gives you the right to live and work in Austria — all in one card.
Most RWR Cards are based on a points system. You earn points for:
- Education and qualifications
- Relevant work experience
- Language skills (German or English)
- Age
- Other factors like studying in Austria
You'll also need to meet certain minimum salary levels depending on your field.

For people with top-level education or research experience. Points needed: 70 or more.
2. Skilled Workers in Shortage Occupations
